God’s BIG Picture

Have you ever walked through a season that was so dark that what you thought was a way out, but it always ended up being a brick wall or a failed opportunity? Have you ever coasted through a great season in your life and never thought that things could get any better?
You may be in a great place and God’s blessings are flowing throughout your life. If that is you, be grateful for His favor and blessings! However, maybe you’re the opposite and your life is so scattered that you don’t know where all the pieces are at.
I once heard a pastor say, “who looks at a tree in the winter and calls it dead… no one! It’s just in a season where it’s not going to grow but yet, it’s full of life!” I fully believe that there are many seasons in life that God allows us to choose whether we will push through and grow, or if we will stay stagnant. Each season is a signal that you are not stuck, and even though you will lose some things, you’re strong enough to keep going long after you think you can’t!
In Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, the Bible says, “ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”
So, I ask you today, what season are you walking in? What area of your heart do you need to check and get back on track? Are you in a season where God is mending your broken heart? Are you in a season where you are desperately searching for peace?
When you sit down to do a puzzle what is the first thing that you do?
You scatter the pieces so can see the big picture. Is your life scattered right now? What if instead of dwelling on the specific pieces, you begin to look at the big picture. Looking at the big picture allows you to see the pieces that could go together. Whereas, if it were jumbled together, you would not have seen that opportunity.
I believe that God has a lot of us in places where our lives are scattered. Maybe it is financially, relationally, emotionally, or all the above. What is your posture? What are you holding onto? The very thing that could create a miracle to take place in your life, could be that very piece that you will not let go of. I challenge you; I challenge myself… look at the big picture.
Do not fixate on your problems, do not allow the enemy to take reign of your life. Instead, know who you serve. Know who holds you in the palm of His hand when everyone else has left. Know who is in control, and TRUST that the next step you take will be in the right direction according to His word and His promises.
