Food for the Soul

Ministry is the outward expression of the church’s heart for Christ. In service to the members of the body and the greater community, Living Hope Church has various ministries that signify who we are and how we have committed ourselves to sharing the good news and spreading the love of Jesus. Our most recently founded ministry is Mission of Meals, a service for people in need of prepared dinners when they fall ill or have a family crisis.
Mission of Meals Ministry was truly created by a call of the Lord. It became apparent that a “faithful few” were the only servants contributing meals for people in the church when there was a need, such as recovery from surgery, illness, or some other reason. The idea sprang up quickly to recruit four rotational teams of people to prepare one part of a meal. So one individual would bring the meat, another the vegetable, and yet another the dessert, until the whole meal was created and prepared to be delivered to the home of the family in need. Initially it was thought that few would be interested in such an endeavor, but the actual response to this ministry was OVERWHELMING!
Within 2 or 3 days of asking and seeking, a team of over 15 members was created and ready to begin serving. With much excitement Living Hope Church launched the Mission of Meals (M&M) ministry on March 29, 2016 serving three separate families in the Englewood area. Over the last couple of months this ministry has continued to grow to now include over 30 individual servants and having been able to provide meals for over 10 families on various occasions. The members of this team are able to bless those in need, while also being blessed by the goodness of God. To God be all the glory for this project as He is using our church members to be His hands, His feet, His heart, and His love.
